Police/Court

The RCIPS have been receiving reports from members of the public regarding messages on WhatsApp, which claim that they have "Won One Million US Dollars," and request them to provide their personal information to an email address – info@vipwhatsapp.online.  An example of the message is attached for your viewing.

The RCIPS would like to inform the public that this message is a scam and persons should refrain from responding to the message via the email address or otherwise, with their personal information. The public is also being asked not to share the message, but instead report any receipt of these messages to the RCIPS.

The matter is being investigated and anyone with information regarding these messages or, anyone who’s received them, is encouraged to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.

Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or via our website. Tips can also be submitted anonymously via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online.
