The Ministry of Education (MoE) is pleased to announce the expansion of its 'Smart Start' Early Stimulation Programme to Bodden Town, starting 29 February.
The 17-week initiative which aims to enhance three-year-old children's readiness for school and empower their families to create a nurturing home environment was initially introduced in 2023 to address the need for early learning facilities in East End and Northside.
"Expanding Smart Start is a crucial step in our commitment to improving early childhood education," says Premier and Minister of Education, Hon. Juliana O'Connor-Connolly. "It ensures more families and children benefit from early educational experiences, setting them on a strong path for future success."
The Bodden Town programme mirrors the original model, offering a weekly Book Buzz at the Bodden Town Public Library and a Stay and Play Session at the Theoline McCoy Primary School.
In East End & Northside, the programme will now focus on 2-year-olds, allowing them to prepare for the newly opened East End Primary School Nursery.
The MoE invites interested parents and guardians to attend registration sessions at the Bodden Town Public Library from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm or the East End Primary School on Saturday, 24 February, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
