The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism is pleased to release our Six Month Performance Report – a snapshot of the state of tourism in the destination for the first six months of 2024.

The snapshot includes an overview of visitation to-date; visitor demographics; accommodations statistics; airlift capacity; and hotel average daily rates in a visually appealing and accessible format.

Statistics of note include:

  • The destination welcomed 250,699 stayover visitors between January and June 2024 – the third highest visitation for the first half of the year in recorded history.
  • Inbound airline seat capacity from US, Canada and UK increased by 15% on 365 more flights compared to 2023.
  • The destination surpassed 8,000 rooms for the first time in May 2024 due to the addition of Vida Cayman Islands and Hotel Indigo Cayman Islands
  • Tourism revenues were bolstered by a 16.9% increase in the average daily rate of hotels (ADR) over the same period in 2023.

Remarking on the destination’s performance between January and June 2024, Hon. Kenneth Bryan Minister for Tourism shared, “Our six-month results show that the time, energy and funding that the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism has put into marketing our destination is paying dividends, and with the increase in room stock and airline seat capacity we look forward to welcoming even more visitors to the destination in the latter half of 2024.”
