The Cayman National Cultural Foundation (CNCF), in partnership with Brand Caribe Innovation Lab, is proud to present The Business of Culture, a powerful two-part film series featuring in-depth conversations with local and international creative industry experts. The premiere screening will take place on March 16 at 7:00 PM at Camana Bay Cinema as part of Cayfest 2025 - ‘Cayfest On Film Splice’.
This groundbreaking film is designed to educate, inspire, and equip Cayman’s creative professionals, entrepreneurs, and cultural stakeholders with the tools and strategies needed to thrive in the global creative economy. Through engaging discussions, the series delves into the realities of monetizing creativity, overcoming industry barriers, and building sustainable careers in the creative and cultural industries.

Part 1 – The Economics of Creativity
A deep dive into how creativity can be transformed into a thriving industry, covering monetization, funding, and cultural impact.

A Strategic Shift for CNCF
CNCF Managing Director Rosie Twohey emphasized the importance of this
initiative, aligning with the foundation’s new strategic direction to develop
Cayman’s creative sector. "Under the CNCF pillar 4 – Training and Support for
Artistic Development,’ we are committed to providing workshops, grants,
promotion, and infrastructure to support artists in building viable careers. The
Business of Culture is a key step in creating a stronger ecosystem for the creative
industries in Cayman.”
Why This Matters
Co-host and curator Patrice Beersingh highlighted the motivation behind the
series: "While we celebrate and facilitate the Arts in many ways, we have yet to
fully develop a creative industry that provides sustainable careers. The Business of
Culture aims to bridge that gap—offering real-world insights on how Caymanian
talent can compete globally. We are proving that the creative and cultural
industries are not just hobbies, but legitimate economic pillars.”
