Just after 9:30PM on Saturday 25 July, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision located on Shamrock Road near Pointdexter Road involving a black Audi A4 and a Gray Honda Civic with a trailer attached at the rear.
The collision is believed to have taken place when the Gray Honda Civic exited Pointdexter Road, off Shamrock Road, and turned right heading in the direction of George Town. The Audi A4, which was heading the in same direction, collided with the rear trailer causing extensive damage to the front end of the Audi and the rear of the Honda as well as the trailer. The collision also caused the debris that was being transported by the trailer to litter the roadway.
The driver of the Audi A4 complained of injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital, where she was treated for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries and later discharged. While at the hospital a specimen for testing was requested, to which she decline and as a result she was warned for intended prosecution for failing to provide a specimen for testing. No other injuries were reported as a resulted of this incident,.
The matter is currently being investigated.
