Update: Police Formally Charge One Man with Two Commercial Burglaries

A 43-year-old man from George Town has now been formally charged with two commercial burglary incidents following his arrest on Wednesday 29 January 2025. The incidents included an electronic store located on Crewe Road on 26 January where multiple electronic items were stolen and a jewellery store located on North Church Street on 29 January 2025 where multiple jewellery items were stolen.

He was also formally charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug (Cocaine) and Possession of a Utensil Used in the Preparation and Consumption of a Controlled Drug. These offenses were observed during his arrest.

The man appeared in court today 3 February he was remanded in custody and is scheduled to return on 18 February.
