Water Authority – Cayman is closely monitoring the ongoing developments relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and taking necessary steps to ensure the safety and well being of our customers and staff, as well as ensuring continuity of service.
In the interest of public health, the Authority has suspended all upcoming disconnections until further notice. The Authority will also work to assist customers who are currently disconnected, due to past non-payment, and who are facing financial hardships to arrange a payment plan and be reconnected. These customers can contact the Authority’s Customer Service team via email at info@waterauthority.ky or by phone at 949-2837.
With the consideration that thousands of persons may be out of jobs temporarily, the Authority has implemented a payment deferral policy to ease the burden on those who may be affected paying utility bills.
This policy will ensure that water service is not interrupted to customers due to non-payment during the Cayman Islands COVID-19 emergency. Customers who experience financial difficulty during this pandemic are encouraged to request a payment agreement by calling 949-2837 or sending an email to info@waterauthority.ky. If you are a tenant, please discuss the matter with your landlord, as your landlord will need to sign the forms for the Authority.
Ninety days after the state of emergency has been lifted, it will be the customer’s responsibility to either pay the balance in full or seek a longer-term payment agreement.
The Authority acknowledges the importance of safe and reliable water supply during this time of uncertainty, and supports working people, small businesses and will do our best to ease financial stress during this difficult time.
Customers are also reminded of the importance of social distancing and are encouraged to do as much business as possible with the Authority electronically. Payments can be made on via the Authority’s website www.waterauthority.ky by clicking the “Pay My Bill” button on the home page, or via the bank. Other service needs can be requested by calling 949-2837 or emailing info@waterauthority.ky.
