Water-Related Death in West Bay

Shortly after 10:00AM on Thursday, 13 July, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of a person in distress on the shore in the vicinity of Boggy Sands Road, West Bay. It was reported that a woman had been swimming offshore when she experienced difficulties and lost consciousness. She was assisted to the shore by family members who administered CPR until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services. The woman was then transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital via ambulance, and was later pronounced dead.

The deceased, a woman age 80, is a visitor from the United States.
