West Bay Man Formally Charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm

UPDATE:

Following the incident that took place on 30 May in George Town, a second man, age 31, of West Bay was arrested on Thursday 2 June, on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm. The man, who was held in custody pending further investigations, has now been formally charged with Possession of an Imitation Firearm.

He is expected to appear in court today, Tuesday 7 June.

Police Investigate Report of Shots Fired in George Town, 30 May

Shortly after 1:00AM this morning, 30 May, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre dispatched officers to a report of shots fired on Shedden Road, just west of Printer Way. It was reported that persons in a vehicle had brandished a firearm and discharged multiple shots into the air, before driving off in the direction of North Sound Road.

Following inquiries, officers located the vehicle involved at an address on Miss Daisy Lane, West Bay. A man at the location fled upon being approached by the officers. A second man, age 25 of West Bay, who was found near the vehicle, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and remains in custody.

The vehicle was recovered by police to be forensically examined.
