West Bay Post Office (WBPO) will close for deep cleaning and mail sanitization on Monday and Tuesday (18 – 19 October), after an employee tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.
The employee did not report for work on Friday after feeling unwell, and wore a mask to work on Thursday.
WBPO was initially thoroughly sprayed with Lysol after management learned the employee was experiencing flu-like symptoms.
Although Postal Services staff have been wearing PPE at work, as a precaution mail already delivered to post offices boxes, will be removed, sanitised and resorted to boxes. Members of the public are asked not to access the WB post office until this process is complete.
WBPO will reopen as soon as it receives clearance from Public Health.
