The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority’s 12th annual Women’s Health Conference will be held on 1 March 2024, at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.
“As we navigate the evolving landscape of women's reproductive health, it's essential to recognise the trends shaping our approach to care. From a growing emphasis on alternative and personalised medicine to the integration of technology such as fertility preservation, these trends reflect our world’s progression towards empowering women with informed choices and fostering a holistic and supportive reproductive health journey,” noted Consultant Gynaecologist at HSA and Chairperson of the event’s organising committee, Dr Gilberta Alexander.
With its theme, “Trends in Women’s Reproductive Healthcare”, this year’s conference aims to provide thought-provoking insight on the topic through the following presentations:
Annually, the conference is scheduled to coincide with International Women’s Day, an occasion that commemorates the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments of women worldwide. The event comprises a faculty of regional experts and healthcare leaders who congregate to address the current issues and clinical updates in the continuum of care for women across the rapidly changing global healthcare landscape. The primary focus of the discussions is integrating an evidence-based approach towards providing seamless preventative and curative care. Conference guests will also be able to engage with sponsor booths.
“The future holds exciting possibilities as we continue to adapt and innovate. Through this conference and its many stimulating topics, we aim to educate every woman present so they can help to tailor their healthcare by utilising the best resources available and making the best decision possible,” Dr. Alexander added.
HSA CEO Lizzette Yearwood stated, “The Women's Health Conference is the result of the dedication and passion of our team at the Women's Health Clinic. What started as an in-house initiative has grown into the only conference of its kind on our island, drawing hundreds of attendees. This conference is a platform for inspiring conversations, and through it, the HSA will continue to help build a community that prioritises and celebrates the diverse aspects of women's health.”
The all-day event is free of cost through the generosity of sponsors. The HSA thanks all sponsors and exhibitors, including lunch sponsor Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute.
