The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority’s 10th annual Women’s Health Conference will be held on 11 March, 2022, at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort.
Each year, the conference coincides with International Women’s Day, a day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women worldwide. The format involves a faculty of experts and healthcare leaders who gather to address the topical issues and clinical updates in the continuum of care for women across the rapidly changing global healthcare landscape with emphasis on evidence-based approach to providing seamless preventative and curative care. This year’s conference theme, “Head to toe impact of women’s reproductive health” promises to provide thought-provoking insight on topics such as:
“Good reproductive health is important for women’s general health and wellbeing. It is not only about physical wellbeing – but also includes the right to healthy and respectful relationships, health services that are inclusive, safe and appropriate, access to accurate information, effective and affordable methods of contraception and access to support and services in relation to pregnancy, which can all help women achieve optimal health and wellbeing,” noted Acting Head of Women Health Dr Rhonda Reeves.
“Between the numerous sessions on a wide range of issues in sexual and reproductive health and the sponsors’ exhibitions, guests of the conference will leave with a greater understanding of reproductive health that can help to improve their quality of care,” she added.
HSA Chief Executive Officer, Lizzette Yearwood said, “I have had the pleasure of seeing the impact of the conference on those who attend and am delighted that this year we have been able to expand the event so it may benefit more members of our community. This year promises to be an engaging and interactive educational opportunity; one that may offer new and improved solutions for the unmet needs of people’s reproductive health journeys.”
For the first time since its inauguration, persons will be able to attend the conference virtually. Online registration for in-person attendance will be available soon and space will be limited. The all-day conference will also be CME accredited.
The HSA thanks all sponsors of the event including Health City, Baptist Health, Cayman Fertility Centre, Cayman Clinic, Ministry of Health and Wellness and all other exhibitors.
