The Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP) was advised of a workplace incident on Friday, 28 February 2025 in an office located at Cayman Business Park on Huldah Avenue, George Town.

At approximately 5:00pm, the Head of Inspections at DLP responded to a matter at a business in Cayman Business Park where it was stated that staff were exposed to high levels of carbon monoxide. Upon inspection, the source was found to be from a power washing job outside near the air condition units at the rear of the building.

As a precaution an ambulance was called to the scene and employees were checked. One employee was taken to the Hospital and later released.

Representatives from Department of Environmental Health (DEH) retested air samples which indicated monoxide levels had significantly decreased.
