Shortly before 7:40PM yesterday, 2 June, officers responded to a report of an altercation at a service station on Eastern Avenue. It was reported that a man was at the location when he was approached by another man known to him, who brandished a machete. A struggle ensued and the first man was struck in the face with the machete and wounded. The second man then fled the location in a vehicle, travelling in the direction of Grackle Road.
Emergency services attended the location and the victim was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital, treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and subsequently discharged.
The matter is currently under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
