Shortly before 7:20AM on Monday, 5 July, officers responded to a report of an incident in the vicinity of the South Sound Community Centre. Two men had been walking in the area when they became involved in an altercation with each other which became physical. One of the men was assaulted and the other wounded with a knife. The man who was wounded was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment for what appears to be a non-life-threatening injury.

The second man, age 37 of George Town, has been arrested on suspicion of wounding. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
